Hi, I'm Jennifer Ramirez and I work with my husband, Jay as the Clinic Director of Autism Family Services of Beaumont LLC and Gen XY Counseling Center.

Born in 1975, I  pride myself as being raised in what I believe as the best generation in modern history. Gen-Xers are a breed of their own.  We are known for resilience, independence and forward thinking.

Generation X: 1965 to 1980, we are now between the ages of 42 to 57 and bring with us some common stereotypes, like: being the "latch-key kids", or "the MTV generation."

I grew up in a typical middle class American household, which served its purpose for the need for therapy in my life. It helped. My 20's and 30's were brutal, but my 40's have proven to me that there are better ways to deal with life.

I consider myself a down to earth, open minded, Christian-conservative woman. I  have experienced: love, divorce, infertility, childbirth, aging / dying parents and lots of other life events that have molded me to who I am now.

I hold a Masters degree in Education Administration and a Masters in Education Counseling Development. I provide therapeutic counseling services for Kids, Teens, Adults, Couples and Families. using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). I also offer support groups, specialized trainings in schools, daycares, and churches to advocate for individuals with disabilities.

I live in Texas with my husband, Jay and our adorable Morkie, Aubrey and our favorite black cat, Salem!  We have 3 adult children who have spread their wings. We can't wait to start the next phase of our life!

Jennifer Sawyer_edited.jpg

Hello. My name is Jennifer Sawyer. I am a graduate of Lamar University where I have completed my Masters of Education in Counseling and Development in May 2021.

I began my counseling career in 2000 when I enrolled into Lamar State College Port Arthur for alcohol and drug addiction. I became licensed with my LCDC (licensed chemical dependency counselor) in October 2007 and have continued to work in the field.

A little bit about my back story. Most people don’t know that I was a high school drop out who completed my GED. Once I married my first husband at the age of 16, I first became a mother at the young age of 17. By the time I was 22 I was a single mother of 4 small children. I didn’t want my children to become a statistic and I was motivated to better their life as well as mine.

Here I am today with an Associates degree, Bachelor degree and Master degree. Currently credentialed as a LPC as well as LCDC. My journey has not been easy, but it has certainly assisted me in growing into the person I am today.
This is something I am grateful for.

I am now a married mother (2nd husband) of 6 children and a grandmother of 7 grand children with another on the way. I can honestly say that I began working in the counseling field due to the trials and tribulations I have been afforded and overcame while rearing my children as well as seeing addiction throughout my family life.

I look forward to working with children, adolescents as well as adults. It is my belief that these life trials and tribulations have given me a greater awareness of how I can be of help to others. I do believe that healing can begin when we become willing to allow ourselves to open up and believe that it can happen. I am a spiritually led counselor and stand firm in my faith.

When I am not at work, I love being involved with my family and my grand children as well as traveling to see new places.

I hope to partner with you in your journey of healing and hope!

Hello There! I'm Latoyia Lewis, a counseling graduate who completed my Masters in Counseling and Development from Lamar in 2024.. Fun fact – I was born in Germany, adding a bit of international spice to my background. Growing up in a mix of cultures has shaped my perspective on life, and it's something I treasure. However, I have lived and worked in Beaumont for over 15 years.

Join me on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment, where therapy becomes a catalyst for positive change, healing, and the realization of one's true potential. Together, let's navigate the profound landscapes of personal growth and well-being.

In the realm of therapy, I see it as a secure sanctuary where clients can freely express their desires, articulate goals, and unravel the potential within themselves. I am genuinely captivated by the transformative journey that therapy offers, and my commitment is to create a safe and empathetic space for individuals to explore, heal, and discover strengths they might not have known they possessed.

Warm Regards,

Latoyia

Introducing Kerri Whitman:

Hello, my name is Kerri Whitman and I am a 2024 graduate student from Lamar University. Pursuing my Masters of Education in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling was an easy choice for me. Having worked as the Assistant Director of the Accessibility Resource Center at Lamar University, I have always been drawn to people with disabilities, as I too have a learning disability.

My first undergraduate degree was in Speech and Hearing Sciences, where I worked briefly as an Assistant Speech Language Pathologist. During my graduate program in Speech Language Pathology, I realized that it was not the right fit for me. After working in the Accessibility Resource Center, I found that I enjoyed working directly with people with disabilities. It was during my time as Assistant Director that I developed a keen interest in counseling.

In my free time, I am also a dance instructor at a local dance studio. I reside in the Beaumont area with my husband of eight years and our three young children.
